Safe Zone Systems (SZS) have successfully developed a system for the Stand-Off multi-threat Detection System. The Concealed Weapons Detector (CWD) bounces a safe, beam off the subject being examined. The return signals are analyzed by an artificial neural net contained in the small, self-contained instrument which can render an automatic decision without human intervention.
Results of these tests showed the Safe Zone Threat Detection System has a very high Rate of detection (98%-100%) on suicide bomb devices. Such a device contains non-metallic and metallic shrapnel and explosives. At the same time the systems minimized the false positive rate on a subject in a safe condition.
